A Red-Haired Beauty Named Ignis

Jingai Makyo IgnisSeries: Jingai Makyo
Character: Ignis
Scale: 1/8 (around 7 inches)
Publisher: Alter

I finally got my Ignis figure after waiting for so long. It is kind of expensive but it really is worth every peso I spent. Her hair and clothes are sculpted in a way that it seems as if they're being blown by the wind coming from the front. I can't say anything else about her clothes except that they're really detailed. Her eyes are matte too, so they don't reflect light, which is good. The color of her eyes are enchanting too!

The paint job is excellent. I inspected my Ignis really well and I can't see any flaws on the sculpt and the painting. My only problem is that I'm scared of accidentally touching the thin parts of her hair because it might snap off at the slightest touch. Although, it is a bit durable since she's made of PVC.

Oh I also like her stand. It's plain white with the kanji of "Jingai Makyo" inscripted on it. I don't think I'll have any leaning problems with her since she's stable and stuff. Her sword is nicely sculpted too, with clean rune inscriptions painted on it. Overall, Ignis is definitely worth it. She's out of print already so if any of you get the opportunity to purchase one, do so before she slips out of your grasp!

Robo Fiesta

There was some sort of a robot convention that was in Shangri-La Plaza. It lasted two days, August 24 and 25 that features robots created by different schools here in the Philippines including Adamson University, AMA Computer College and I think Manila Science High School was there too. Different robots made by groups from their respective schools were showcased and a contest was held I think to choose which robot was the best. I'm not too sure about this though ^_^;

Apart from these locally-made robots, there was a video that was playing all day that showed different robots made by other countries, Japan primarily. Also, there were random robots that seem to have been made ages ago. I really couldn't see the description for that exhibit because a lot of people were crowding near it.

Oh and some Star Wars cosplayers were there too! Characters like C3PO, Darth Vader and a couple of Storm Troopers were going around, letting people take pictures of them. Speaking of pictures, I'll post them when I'm not too lazy to upload.

Manga Manga!

Here's a list of the manga I just finished reading recently and my ratings (asterisks would represent the number of stars I'll give for each title):

  1. Lady Snowblood (Kazuo Koike & Kazuo Kamimura) - *****
  2. Ichigo Channel (Tajima Mimi) - ****
  3. Nasu (Iou Kuroda) - ***
  4. Doubt (Kaneyoshi Izumi) - ***1/2

It's been this long already?

It's been super long since either of us updated this blog. More like, we've both forgotten about it lol ^^ Anyway, we're both working now, same company, and we're both doing night shift meaning, 10PM til 6AM. Better than the morning or mid shift, IMO.

Uhm.. we got some hauls over the past two months. Meaning, we bought toys.
Jeff's hauls:
Alter 1/8 KOS-MOS
Yamato Minawa-chan PVC
Yamato 1/8 Wendy Garrett
Toricolle Evangelion gashapon set
HGIF Haruhi series 2
Kaiyodo Eva-01 "hard core mode"
Kotobukiya 1/8 Akari Kamigishi
Revoltech Saber
Toynami Serial Experiments Lain doll (urban outfit)
Kaiyodo/ToyTribe Nicholas D. Wolfwood

Coeli's hauls:
Alter Ignis
Dirty Pair Flash Kei
Lupin and Fujiko figures (set of two)

Yeah yeah, compared to what he bought and what I bought, he'll definitely have more toys than I in no time at all T_T Well, I have to save up for something, that's why I couldn't really give in to temptation. IGNIS WAS ALREADY TEMPTATION AND I GAVE IN!!!
